Jordan is a country located in the Asian part
of the Arab world. After the Great Arab Revolt

led by Al- Sharif Hussein bin Ali and the
dissolution of the Ottoman Empire which
governed Jordan for many centuries, the

Emirate of Transjordan was established in
1921 by King Abdullah I.

The country gained its independence from the

British mandate in 25 May,1946 and thereafter

became The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

(al- Mamlakah al- Urduniyah al-Hashimiyah).
