(2-4) Numbers to the Power of 2 and 3.

                 The power of 2:

                                         The little number ‘2’ is called ‘index’,
                                         ‘power’ or ‘exponent’ and it tells us

                                         how many times to multiply out the

                                         big number ‘5’.

                                         The big number «5» is called the «base» and

                                         is what we multiply together.

                                              5²= 5×5= 25

                                               Multiply two of them

                                 ³           5³= 5×5×5= 125

                                          The power of 3

                                               5 ³

                                          is the same as
                                              5×5×5

                                                25×5

                                               5³= 125
